Record-Breaking Generosity in 2020

Article Type: News

Despite a year full of many challenges, Barnabas Foundation saw record-breaking numbers in the generosity of God’s people. Barnabas Foundation distributed 11,207 grants to churches, nonprofit ministries and other charitable organizations in 2020.

These grants, totaling $80,602,713, help fund the life-changing work of Kingdom causes around the world!

Over 10,000 of the grants, totaling $48,667,824, were given through Barnabas Foundation’s Stewards Fund (donor-advised fund). These gifts were given by individuals and families in the forms of cash, stock, mutual funds, bonds, real estate and other assets. Barnabas Foundation then makes grants to organizations and ministries, as recommended by the donor(s). The remainder of the distributions were given through individuals who left charitable gifts in their wills.

“We continue to be amazed by the generosity of God’s people as they channel their resources to Kingdom Causes,” said Executive Director Jim Bakke, J.D. “It is an honor for us to be part of the flow of God’s blessing to and through His people.”

Since our founding in 1976, Barnabas Foundation has helped thousands of families distribute more than $830 million to the churches and ministries close to their hearts.
